Purchasing Specialist, Days

Department: TV Finance and Accounting
Location: Auburn, MA

Join us as a Purchasing Specialist!

Full time 40 hours, onsite Monday-Friday in our Auburn, MA office

The purchasing specialist is responsible for ordering all hospital supplies, supervision of the inbound/outbound materials, and oversight of the purchase and delivery of medical supplies.

As a Purchasing Specialist:

  • Manage expenses by maintaining an accurate log of expenditures to be submitted to CFO for regular month-end financial review
  • Establish an inventory maintenance process that can be scaled and adapted hospital wide. The inventory maintenance process will focus on expiration dates, supply count, rate of refill, and cost
  • Coordinate all inbound and outbound traffic to maximize cost-effectiveness
  • Provide expert insight into supply chain solutions to C-Suite Executives and Department Heads to ensure supply solutions are met and maintained
  • Develop and maintain client relationships by providing best-in-service customer care
  • Leverage vendor relations to negotiate and maintain best rates consistent with company policy and procedure
  • Ensure purchase orders are completed in a timely manner
  • Work closely with internal customers to resolve order issues and supply interruptions.
  • Responsible for maintaining the efficient flow of purchase order requisitions and the placement of routine orders
  • Observe and adhere to company policies and procedures

The Purchasing Specialist will have the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 2 years of experience in supply chain
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 365
  • Working knowledge of medical supplies
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
